Privacy policy

Ping Light keeps your monitoring local.

Ping Light is a macOS menu-bar endpoint monitor. It is designed to work without accounts, analytics, advertising, or a developer-operated backend.

Effective date: 29 September 2026

Data we collect

RainDigit does not collect data from Ping Light. The app does not include third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or crash-reporting services that transmit information to RainDigit.

Data stored on your Mac

Your endpoint configuration and recent check results are stored locally on your Mac. If you choose to configure basic authentication or a bearer token for an endpoint, that credential is stored in your macOS Keychain.

Configuration JSON exports do not contain the app's Keychain credentials. URLs, query parameters, manually entered headers and request bodies may still contain sensitive information; review an export before sharing it. You control whether to export or import a configuration.

Endpoint requests

When you add an endpoint, Ping Light sends a request directly from your Mac to the URL you configured. RainDigit does not proxy these requests, receive their contents, or operate a service that receives your endpoint URLs, responses, credentials, or check history.

The endpoint operator and network services can receive the configured request and ordinary connection information such as your IP address. Their own privacy practices apply. Requests only run while the local app can perform them; Ping Light is not a developer-hosted cloud monitoring service.

Keep credentials private. Do not include passwords, bearer tokens, or other endpoint credentials in support emails.

Support correspondence

If you email support, RainDigit receives the information you choose to include in that message and uses it only to respond to the support request. Please send only the minimum information needed to describe the issue.

Apple may process App Store purchases, TestFlight feedback and diagnostic information under its own terms. These are separate from developer data collection inside Ping Light.

Your choices

Because Ping Light does not collect or maintain your in-app data, there is no RainDigit account profile or cloud data to access, correct, or delete. You can remove local app data and credentials from your Mac at any time.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when Ping Light's data practices change. The effective date above will be updated with any material revision.
